  1. What are the motives of this lovely elderly couple and of the makers of this documentary? Whose side are they on? Are they on the side of Peace, war, confusion, chaos, what are their political backgrounds?
Are they just simple people who are pro-prisoners rights, or are they simply Anti Israel?

    • I think the overall point of this documentary is to show the hypocrisy in the way the west deals with Israel compared to other countries such as Iraq, N. Korea, and Iran. After all, Israel breaks all kinds of international laws they are never held accountable for. For example, we went to war with Iraq on the entirely false notion that they had weapons of mass destruction, but we know Israel has weapons of mass destruction against international law but we don’t even say one word about it. Seems kinda strange, doesn’t it?

      • I believe the United States punishes traitors pretty harshly. Most countries do – in fact all do. Why is Israel expected to be kind to traitors?

  2. You’re right, most countries do punish traitors pretty harshly; what it comes down to though, is your definition of who is a traitor and who is not. For example, most of the politicians of the United States are traitors in my opinion, so can I hold a secret trial and jail them for 18 years? Many of the politicians in Israel are criminals as well for they are responsible for the murder of women and children, so why aren’t they jailed? Both Israel and the US constantly violate international law and both deserve to be held accountable, but it never happens; why?

Vanunu was jailed by an Israeli “democracy” which is indistinguishable from a dictatorship; if anyone deserved to be jailed for 18 years it was the powers who decided it was okay to go ahead with illegal production of nuclear technology against international law, not the man who found himself and realized telling the truth about these crimes was the right thing to do.

  3. I believe your comments gave me enough information that I understand you are not so much pro-Vanunu but you are very much anti-Israel.
When we work for a country – especially after we have made that country our home, we must obey the laws of the land. I also believe in accountability.
I have faith in the United States and Israel. Both are nations of good people.
It is very easy to sit outside of a situation and criticize those dealing with that situation.
I have learned that most prisoners say they are innocent or they have bee ill-treated – just ask them. Many prisoners have great followings of people who feel sorry for them and that is fine.
They hook onto the prisoner’s dilemma as a cause for their own lives, a meaning. That’s okay.
I am sure you have your reasons for your stance, I also have my reasons for not wishing to discuss this any further as it is futile.

    • For me it has nothing to do with Vanunu, but it has everything to do with the US and Israels long history of illegal actions. I am not anti-Israel; I am anti-crimes against humanity. Do you agree with crimes against humanity? If so, any further discussion is most definitely futile, I agree.

One more thing regarding Vanunu: Since when is telling the truth a crime?

      • Telling the TRUTH is never a crime. That is why it is always a good idea to know what the TRUTH is in the first place.

  4. Which is obviously that Israel has nuclear weapons against international law.
